Burlington UMC is honored to be participating in Lenten services with other churches in the area. The theme for this year is based upon Jesus’ “I am” statements in the gospel of John.
Who is Jesus, really? While many have tried to define him throughout history, Jesus gave us his own "self-portraits" through seven powerful statements in the Gospel of John.
In this ecumenical series of services, we will explore these "I am" declarations to see how Jesus is still everything we need today:
Bread of Life: Finding true spiritual satisfaction.
Light of the World: Stepping out of darkness and into his guidance.
The Door & Good Shepherd: Discovering our ultimate protector and provider.
Resurrection and the Life: Embracing hope even in the face of death.
Way, Truth, and Life: Navigating our journey with the only sure foundation.
The True Vine: Learning the power of staying connected to him daily.
Join us as we gaze upon the beauty of Christ and discover how his identity shapes our own. All services begin at 7:00 p.m. and the schedule is as follows. If you need transportation to the services, please let the church office or Pastor Stanton know!
